OUR
STORY.

St. Petersburg, Florida

Moondeck is an independent footwear brand founded in 2025 founded in St. Petersburg, Florida, with operations in Reno, Nevada.

Where it all started.

The company was started by brothers Joe and Will Llewellyn after years of hands-on boat life in St. Pete revealed a gap in the market: no shoe combined the slip-on ease of a slide with the fit, grip, and support of an athletic shoe.

Four years of prototyping and collaboration with lead designer Evan Hoffman — whose background spans Nautica and sustainable materials company Natural Fiber Welding — produced the Lunar Tide 1.

Meet the team

Joe Llewellyn

Co-Founder

Joe is a runner, hiker, and lifelong builder who spent twelve years at Gilead Sciences before focusing on creating products for everyday use. Inspired by time on the water and the need for an easy shoe after long days outside, he designed Lunar Tide 1 with a simple goal: better breathability than clogs, an adjustable fit, and comfort that comes first.

Will Llewellyn

Co-Founder

Will’s passion for footwear began on the water while living on a boat in St. Petersburg, Florida. Immersed in marina life and the laid-back rhythm of St. Pete, he saw firsthand the need for footwear that could move effortlessly between dock, deck, and everyday life. That experience sparked the Moondeck mission.
